A few weekends ago I was honored to be in my best friend’s wedding. As maid of honor I was running around getting everything ready for her big day. It was a weekend full of excitement and stress. The day of the wedding I was more nervous than the bride; but it was all worth it. My best wishes go out to the bride and groom.
Maid of Honor Speech
To Kellie & Richie
I am so honored to be a part of this wedding- but we all know Kell
needed the help.
Kellie or more commonly known at my house as Mariski.
Two peas in a pod - thick as thieves – tight knit – this is you and me.
There are not many memories; I have that don’t involve you. It seems
like we have done everything together.
From brandings at Auntie Karen’s, when our Dads had to anchor the
calves we roped – to rodeos where our Dads still give us advice –
wanted or not.
From homecoming queens to rodeo queens.
From skunk filled Halloweens to bar hopping fiends.
We have had some pretty awesome road trips and if the car could talk it
would spill our most prized secrets and say we are in desperate need of
From jumping rope to skipping class – from building forts to making
These are only a few memories but I know there are many more to come.
Now on to Richie
I knew Richie was the man for Kel when I met him one weekend in San
Luis Obispo. I met this kind, loving, funny guy and as a best friend I
just knew they were meant to be. And getting to know Richie better
these last few months. I love to see the way he makes her smile and
the total happiness they bring to one another.
And if anyone has ever seen Richie dance we all know why Kellie fell in
love. I hope we get a preview later.
I would now invite you all to raise your glasses as we get to be apart
of the beginning of a true-life love story, I love you two -- to Kellie
